RACER was designed to reduce the operational overhead of setting up a useful cybersecurity training environment. Instead of treating the range as a one-off lab, the project approached it as infrastructure that should be reproducible, supportable, and easy to evolve.

Ansible automation drove deployment, while integrated tools such as Wazuh, Suricata, Nagios, and RT-IR supported monitoring and incident-response-oriented exercises. The result was a more realistic environment for students and a more maintainable platform for the team operating it.
